“A Murder at the End of the World” on Hulu brings thrills and goosebumps

LOS ANGELES — Murder. Secret. Intrigue. Theatre. Twists. Turns. Technology. “A Murder at the End of the World” encompasses it all.
In the series, Emma Corrin plays Darby Hart, a Generation Z detective who spends most of her time solving unsolved cases. She wrote a memoir about how she and her then-boyfriend Bill searched for a serial killer. Tech billionaire Andy Ronson, played by Clive Owen, finds out about this and invites Darby to a retreat for elite minds in a very remote part of Iceland. While the guests are getting used to the freezing temperatures, a death occurs and Darby suspects that it is no coincidence.
Corrin told On The Red Carpet that the multi-faceted role of Darby was exactly what they were looking for in a role.
“I thought she was a very original detective. I felt like I had never read a character like her in a story like this. And I found it incredibly refreshing,” Corrin said.
“She’s always doing research, and I enjoyed that.”
Corrin also enjoyed the experience of filming this series, despite the freezing temperatures.
“We all started filming, shooting together in Iceland, in the elements, up a mountain, being driven to work on snowmobiles and having to stop because of snowstorms,” Corrin said.
“Then we were all isolated together in Iceland because we were all sick with Covid. We were literally stuck in a hotel together, like in the show. So it was a really strange art-mirror life. I mean, yeah, no one was murdered.” Corrin laughed.
Thank God!
Corrin said that despite the “trauma-bonding experience,” working with cast members like Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson and Brit Marling (who also serves as co-creator, writer and executive producer) was an absolute pleasure.
“Everyone was so brilliant and I think the cast was incredible,” Corrin said.
“It felt like an adventure. It felt like everyone really had to pull together and support each other. Every day you never knew what was going to happen, which was really exciting.”
The first two episodes of A Murder At The End of the World are now streaming on Hulu. New episodes appear every Tuesday.
Disney is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC channel.
