The royals need to prepare for the new season of The Crown to hit cinemas in the UK very soon.

The first episode of season six premiered in Los Angeles on Sunday.

In attendance were Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana, and Khalid Abdalla, who plays her then lover Dodi Alfayed.

The new season recreates the final months of Princess Diana’s troubled life, exploring Prince Charles as a man who wants to replace her in public opinion with Camilla, played by Olivia Williams.

The new episode also deals with an alleged disagreement between the future king and Queen Elizabeth II, played by Imelda Staunton.

The Queen and Charles clashed over trying to gain Her Majesty’s public stamp of approval on his and Camilla’s relationship.

Nevertheless, she refused, explaining that their relationship had resulted in two failed marriages, including Charles’s to Diana and Camilla’s to Andrew Parker Bowles.

The young prince even went so far as to ask if the Queen would attend Camilla’s 50th birthday party as a show of support, to which she politely declined, saying that she would be doing a factory tour that day.

Princess Margaret, played by Lesley Manville, scolds and contradicts her for turning her back on Charles’ relationship and says this to familiarize the public with their relationship.

Gradually the Queen becomes familiar with the relationship between Charles and Camilla and tells him: “If you are happy, then I am happy.”

Charles then sets about getting the public to open up to his new lover.

However, he soon gets a reality check as they face many challenges, including newspaper front page pictures of Diana vacationing in the Mediterranean with her new alleged lover aboard the Alfayed yacht.

Dodi is pressured by his father Mohamed, played by Salim Daw, to continue pursuing Diana and make her fall in love with him so that he can marry her and make his family proud.

But Mohamed’s plans are put in jeopardy by the sudden arrival of Dodi’s fiancée, the US model Kelly Fisher.

His father strictly orders him to get rid of his lover and instead concentrate entirely on the princess, which he obediently does.

In the final minutes of the first episode, the People’s Princess is seen coming home to her apartment, which was decorated to the brim with roses and a box containing a designer watch with only a note reading: “Come to Paris.”

The untimely accident that unfortunately took the princess’s life is not actually shown in the episode, but the final seconds before it are shown at the beginning.

It’s about a man innocently walking his dog on the side of the road in Paris when Diana’s car speeds past them, pursued by a horde of paparazzi chasing them on bikes before a deafeningly loud explosion is heard nearby.

The first four episodes of season six, The Crown, will premiere on Netflix in the UK on November 16th, with the second half arriving on December 14th.
