All starter classes for The King 2, ranked

Starting a new campaign in For The King 2 is a daunting experience. With five starting classes, it can be difficult to decide which of the featured heroes is best suited to save Farhul from the villainous Mad Queen. Equal parts humble and full of potential, each of these enterprising freedom fighters brings something unique to the table.
The chaos that corrupts Farhul brings with it a number of different challenges. From deadly combat encounters against evil forces to dealing with obstacles while traveling, one of the most important keys to success is securing a diverse pool of talent to choose from. However, not all skills are developed equally, so you need to be careful when initially choosing your group.
5 Calm hand

On the surface, the groom appears to be rather inconspicuous compared to his more specialized contemporaries. With a modest collection of stats, with strength and speed at the top, they are solid melee fighters. Additionally, her passive bonus ability, Hard Work, can be useful for dealing out extra damage in an emergency. However, the requirement that you use the last of your focus to activate the skill prevents it from being used very often.
The groom suffers most from his lack of utility outside of combat, as well as his relatively low vitality for a frontline fighter. While their base speed helps dodge oncoming blows, if they ever get hit, it will certainly be felt. Overall, while there is no wrong class to start your campaign with The Stablehand, unfortunately it cannot provide the same benefits as its alternatives.
4 Herbalist

Because “The King 2” places great value on the right team composition and the herbalist is a real team player. Since herbs are the primary form of healing, it is crucial to not only stock up on herbs, but also to use them effectively. This is where the Herbalist shines the most thanks to his passive skills. Group Healing allows them to heal all neighboring party members at once when consuming an herb, applied both on the map screen and in combat.
This combines well with the Find Herb passive skill, which performs a hidden dice roll to see if the herbalist discovers a bonus herb at the end of each round. Even if the herb revealed doesn’t always serve to heal, it will definitely have some use, and since the herbalist does his best with his allies nearby, he can always pass it on if the item is more useful to one of them Comrades. However, usefulness is only half the battle, as when it comes to combat, the Herbalist begins the campaign as a rather lackluster soldier due to his weaker primary weapon.
3 Scholars

The Scholar packs a lot more punch than its academic name suggests. As a magic-user, the Scholar has one key difference that distinguishes his attacks from those of the Herbalist: the fact that each attack can deal area-of-effect damage. The lower impact of the blows is offset by their ability to soften multiple enemies at once, making it easier for the more direct damage dealers to clear out their downed foes.
But that’s not all, as outside of combat the Scholar plays a large role in navigation and movement. Equipped with the Find Scroll ability, they can find useful items in the same way as the Herbalist. Items like the Teleport Scroll, combined with her naturally high intelligence, greatly increase her mobility. Additionally, the Scholar has an extremely powerful secondary passive, giving him the ability to regenerate focus at will at the end of each turn.
2 Hunter

The Hunter serves as one of For The King 2’s most iconic classes, packing exactly the punch you’d expect from an archetype with this title. First of all, the Hunter has a total of four special abilities, which puts him well ahead of the other starter classes that only have one or two.
The first group is Elite Ambush and Elite Sneak. Both have a similar effect, reducing the number of dice rolls required to either sneak past enemies or ambush them. Combined with the Hunter’s high base awareness, this results in significantly stacked dice rolls in favor of the heroes. The Hunter’s other passive ability, Energy Boost, is more modest in that it allows him to randomly move an additional space on the map screen.
By far her more devastating ability is the Called Shot, which has the chance to turn any attack with the bow into a perfect attack that deals maximum damage to the weapon. While it limits the class to a single weapon type in a game that offers multiple alternatives (some more bizarre than others), it does mean that a good bow can make the hunter a force to be reckoned with.
1 Blacksmith

When it comes to role-playing games, it is often more common for blacksmiths to equip heroes for battle rather than engaging in combat themselves. Luckily, however, the smiths of For the King 2 are more than ready to join the good fight. At the start of the game, her job is to protect the weaker members of the group, armed with a hammer and a protective shield that can do a lot of damage. And for this purpose, they have their passive trait of Fortitude, which allows the blacksmith to completely neutralize any damage taken as long as they have their shield equipped.
So, combined with their already high health, they are perfectly suited to take the brunt of the abuse, but that’s not all they’ll do, as their high strength means they’re quite capable of dishing out even more punishment than they take. Although they may not have as many outstanding skills and abilities as other heroes, their efficiency in battle makes them an invaluable member of any squad. Their only weakness is their relatively limited ability to move around the map, but provided they can keep up with their comrades, the Blacksmith will ensure they fulfill their purpose and bring justice to Farhul’s chaotic forces.
