Ariana Madix responds to her comment about sandwich shop delays

To one critic, Ariana Madix made a quick comeback.

In November 2023, the “Vanderpump Rules” star shut down a social media commenter who questioned her involvement in “Something About Her,” the upcoming West Hollywood sandwich shop that she will open with Katie Maloney.

The co-stars have been working on their “uncompromisingly feminine” gourmet sandwich bar since filming season 9 in 2021. But the opening was postponed several times. Madix has been busy with brand partnerships, a book deal and a successful appearance on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Ariana Madix faced criticism after posting about a charity event

On November 9, 2023, Madix released a photo on Instagram This showed her sitting with her dog Mya Moon, with a cocktail in her hand. In the caption, Madix revealed that she is about to go on tour to celebrate the release of her new book. “Individual AF cocktails.”

But before the book release, Madix will host an Airbnb experience called “Cocktail Night In,” with all proceeds going to charity. While most of the comments surrounding Madix’s partnership have been positive, Madix also faced some criticism after announcing their latest collaboration.

“I guess the sandwich shop will never open…poor Katie trusts you.” wrote one commenter to Madix.

Madix replied her criticby writing, “I lie to you and think that I am incapable of doing more than one thing at a time.”

Other fans also chimed in to defend Madix.

“She CLEARLY CAN multitask!!! Haven’t you watched over the last 9 months what she has accomplished while living through a tumultuous situation?! She understood that🔥”, wrote one fan.

“Dancing with the Stars, Bravocon, book, restaurant, Love Island, Vanderpump…” another wrote.

“She never sleeps” another fan agreed.

Maloney doesn’t blame Madix for the delays in opening the sandwich shop. In July 2023, a source said The Sun that issues with permits and renovations to bring the restaurant space up to code were the cause of the delays.

In an interview on the Almost Adulting podcast. In September 2023, Maloney opened up about the obstacles the two encountered while trying to open their business. She explained this during the “Sur’Ving Up the Latest With Vanderpump Rules” panel. at BravoCon 2023. Maloney said the store will open “soon.”

“It’s unimaginable how many hurdles you have to jump through and how much bureaucracy there actually is, especially in West Hollywood,” Maloney said. “It’s like they’re very persistent, so it’s just been inspection after inspection and things popping up, so it’s like we’re just getting a new water heater.”

“We don’t give constant updates because the updates are incredibly boring,” she added. “Nobody really wants to hear about us putting something like a two-inch thing in the walk-in refrigerator. …This is the update. Some final things that popped up in the eleventh hour.”
