Charlotte Crosby reveals secret health battle that left her ‘in bed for two weeks’ and not speaking to her fiancé Jake

CHARLOTTE Crosby has revealed she suffered from prenatal depression and was therefore unwilling to speak to her fiancé.
The 32-year-old reality star and his fiancé Jake Ankers, 33, welcomed their first child, daughter Alba, last October.
Charlotte revisited the tougher moments of her pregnancy in a new chat with Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast.
“Oh, I didn’t enjoy that thought,” she said. “It was terrible. I developed mild prenatal depression, it was terrible. It felt like it was… it was only two weeks. But there were two weeks where I felt like I couldn’t get up.”
“There was a dark cloud hanging over my head. It wasn’t that I didn’t want the baby. I just felt so low. Like I don’t have any deep or dark thoughts.”
“I just couldn’t bring myself to talk to Jake. I didn’t want to go anywhere. I didn’t want to do anything. I was just floored, I can’t even describe it. It’s indescribable. When you go through something like that.”

Prenatal depression is often caused by hormonal imbalance during pregnancy and presents with a variety of symptoms of varying severity.
Celebrity driver Jake and Charlotte met through mutual friends in 2015, but a romantic relationship only began in early 2022.
Weeks later, Charlotte became pregnant after moving into Jake’s flat in Manchester.
Although she vowed to stay single after splitting from Liam Beaumont just before the end of 2021, Charlotte knew Jake was the right man for her.
A source told Fabulous: “He’s a hard-working guy who likes to have a private life, which puts him several worlds away from some of the fame-hungry wannabes Charlotte has dated in the past.”
“He’s in business, not show business, doesn’t care about the spotlight and enjoys the finer things in life – all without feeling the need to shower them everywhere Instagram the whole time.”
