Dream is frustrated as he is accused of grooming again on social media: ‘I can’t defend myself’

Dream has defended himself against a tirade of grooming allegations on Twitter after being “harassed for almost a year over false accusations.”

Popular content creator, streamer and occasional musician.Dream‘, who is best known for his Minecraft work, was accused of molesting a minor in 2022 when a Twitter user claimed the creator flirted with her through a burner account when she was 17.

Although these allegations were never proven, that hasn’t stopped netizens from dragging Dream ever since. To provide clarity, he released a 42-minute response addressing the allegations.

However, users have since taken an excerpt from the video out of context to spread claims that he confessed. Now Dream seems to have had enough and defends himself in a series of attacks Twitter posts.

“I talked on stream about how I was going to create a detailed video with transcripts, screenshots and evidence and gave some bullet points, but it was taken completely out of context and somehow spread as a lie that I ‘admitted everything’.” ‘” Dream said.

“If I’m so terrible, why do you have to misquote, lie, exaggerate and slander me? If I am everything you say I am, why is it so hard to be honest?” he continued.

Dream expressed his frustration with the situation, claiming he had been “harassed for almost a year” due to the allegations made shortly after his face was revealed.

He said: “That one false accusation turned into ‘Dream was talking to children, there are loads of accusations, Dream never denied it, Dream was exposed while they were playing children’, and much worse.” All because of past parasociality (which, yes, I can be responsible for that).”

Dream explained that spreading misinformation was “harmful to real victims” and urged those who were convinced of his wrongdoing not to “devalue grooming” just to make sure he “fit the definition.”

“This is not drama, this is serious stuff with serious implications,” he said. “I can say in so many words: I am not a pedo, I have not groomed anyone and my heart goes out to all the victims who need to tell their true story [and] Trauma is thrown in their faces for internet points.”
