EastEnders fans are stunned as Albie Watts’ real father is revealed – and it’s NOT Keanu Taylor

EASTENDERS fans are left stunned after it was revealed Phil Mitchell is the father of Sharon Watts’ son Albie – a bombshell twist.

The hardman – who is played in the BBC soap by actor Steve McFadden – was previously ruled out as Albie’s father after his then-wife Sharon had a secret DNA test carried out.

But when Albie was diagnosed with a genetic disease this evening, it emerged that Phil was the toddler’s father.

The doctor explained how the test results showed Albie has a genetic disease, meaning both parents also carry it.

He explained that the AADT gene must be passed down from both parents and they may not have any symptoms, but to be sure they can do a simple blood test.

Sharon agreed with both of them when Keanu came in, but when the results came back, Sharon was in for a shock.

“That’s good News‘ said the doctor.

“None of you have elevated values in your kidney or liver tests. The test results show that you are a carrier of the gene, but Mr. Taylor is not.”

Sharon realized what the test results meant – but Keanu had no idea, so she sent him with Albie to go to the machine while she spoke to the doctor.

“Maybe the tests are wrong?” Sharon said that at that moment Keanu was out of earshot.

“It can happen. Can we please do another one? Can we just check?”

“I know this is a lot to worry about, but I can assure you that we have double-checked everything and the tests are correct.

“Does this mean what I think it means?” Sharon asked.

The doctor asked her, “Was there anyone else in the months before your son was born?” Someone who could be Albie’s real father?”

But Sharon just turned around and saw Phil outside talking to Keanu and Albie the office window and looked devastated.

But despite the scene leading viewers to believe Phil is the father, fans with long memories recall that Sharon took a DNA test in 2019 that ruled out Phil as the father.

Now fans are completely at a loss as to who Albie’s father is.

One wrote: “Yeah, Albie doesn’t belong to Keano, does he?”

A second said: “Phil will be Albie’s dad.”

Another added: “So I’m guessing that on the night of Sharon and Keanu’s Christmas wedding, Keanu finds out Albie isn’t his and kills Phil?”
