Furious Craig Revel Horwood hits back at Strictly fan who claims he is underlining Layton

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has hit back at a fan who claimed he was underlining Layton Williams.
This came after Craig gave the Bad Education star just a 9 on Saturday night’s show after he performed a flawless Argentine tango, which received tens from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
Craig offered no negative criticism after Layton’s performance, saying only: “A.May.Zing.”
This left fans baffled that he didn’t give Layton and his pro partner Nikita Kuzmin full marks for their enchanting show, which was centered around Eurovision winner Loreen’s tattoo.
A disgruntled viewer of the hit BBC show took to X, formerly Twitter. to directly challenge Craig and confront him.
The feisty fan wrote: “Giving Angela Rippon a 10 recently but only a 9 for the men’s absolutely outstanding performance on Saturday night was bitterly disappointing and said so much about your character…it spoke volumes about you sir and was sad.” . “Reflection of your own incompetence.”
But Craig didn’t take the insult lightly and fired back by pointing out a mistake by the fan.
Craig commented: “It was actually 9 o’clock for Angela R. Get your facts sorted, dear sir, before you publish yourself. Thank you for watching.”
However, others soon joined in the excitement and didn’t let the Australian get away unscathed.
One responded to Craig’s criticism: “But you haven’t offered any criticism or areas for improvement. So if there was no criticism or room for improvement then you must have thought it was perfect and had no room for improvement and therefore it should have been a 10???”
Another chimed in: “That may be so Craig, but Layton’s performance absolutely deserves a 10. You are the judge who speaks most sense and makes precise points, but unfortunately not in this case.”
Regardless of Craig’s score, Layton still received the top score for the evening on Saturday.
Angela Rippon, meanwhile, landed in the bottom two alongside Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
In the end it was the Channel 4 newsreader who left the field.
