Gettysburg SavorHood Announces Closure; now under a new name and owner

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The newly opened SavorHood food hall recently announced its closure and now has a new name and owner.

abc27 news reported back in April 2023 when the “new food experience” called SavorHood first opened its doors.

The new food hall was founded and owned by Colorado natives Steve Burton and Judy Morley. Renovation of the new 14,000 square meter space begins 985 Baltimore Pike began in August 2022 and upon completion, SavorHood hosted a local brewery and ten other vendors.

As early as November 1, 2023, the landlord of the premises at 985 Baltimore Pike, Brian Zoeller, announced on Facebook that SavorHood would be closing its doors “due to a series of events resulting in financial difficulties.”

As part of the announcement, Zoeller said he would be taking the food hall concept and renaming it “The Food Hall.” Lincoln Social Food Market. According to Zoeller, the following changes will be made after the official opening:

  • Cash is now accepted by most providers
  • New providers are introduced
  • Special emphasis is placed on events and special programs to add entertainment value to guests’ dining experience
  • They will prioritize outreach and engagement, including senior days and working with local schools and sports teams
  • A new bar concept will also be added soon

This month of November was used as a transition period to make most of these changes and wind down the SavorHood operation. The official opening weekend at the new Lincoln Social Food Hall will take place on Thursday, November 30th to Sunday, December 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m

Please note that all SavorHood gift cards will be accepted through Sunday, November 26th.
