Here’s how to win every pocket circuit race in Like A Dragon Gaiden.

The Pocket Circuit mini-game introduced in Yakuza 0 made a triumphant return in 2013 Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Cleared His Name. Once again you tackle the small stretch and push it to the redline. Just like the previous iteration, assembling your race car requires careful management.

You always have to strike a balance between acceleration and speed. Speed, grass verges usually require studded tires, and when climbing steep sections of road you need a more powerful engine. Your weight must also be constantly taken into account: if you are too heavy you will be slow, if you are too light you will fly off the track. Introductory race – 20c

This is your first race and it’s as easy as it gets. Use the setup below and boost it at virtually any time to gain an advantage.

Rookie’s Welcome Race – 20c

You can keep the same equipment as the previous race and win this one too, but you will need to upgrade the equipment to achieve victory. Boost at the start of the straight section just before the finish line. You’ll probably need to press the restore button to keep your car on the track once you reach the corner. However, this allows you to win without spending a single point.

Rookie Race – 20c

This is the first race where we have to use our boost cleverly to win. You will have two boosts in this race, Make sure you use them when you are Only Entering the last elevated ramp before the finish line. Don’t increase before you step on the ramp, increase Only as you enter it.

Veteran Race – 30c

With this build you should be able to win decisively. Boosts will likely throw you off track, so don’t use them. Except on the last leg of the race, right when you land from the jump before the loop. Expert Race – 30c

This will be another pretty easy win. Just make sure you boost when you’re on the inside lane (the green one) and increase directly after the finish line (as close to it as possible).

Official Race – 30 cents

The following setup will absolutely destroy your competition. No reinforcement necessary. Better yet, you should have all of these parts from previous builds, so this is a good opportunity to put some money in the bank.

If you wish, you can reduce the suspension and gain even more dominance, but you have to press the stabilization button. If you want to use the boost, just use it before you reach the loop (if you are on the inside lane).

CourStar Race – 35c

Champions Course – 40c
