Jasmine M. Boykin threw hot liquid in the infant’s face: DA

A 27-year-old mother in Alabama was arrested this week and is accused of intentionally burning her infant son and throwing hot soup in his face. Jasmine M. Boykin was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with one count of aggravated child abuse for allegedly inflicting horrific injuries on the little boy, authorities confirmed to Law&Crime.

A report of Mobile Fox affiliate WALA states that Boykin took her son to a local hospital on the morning of November 14th to be treated for burns that doctors said appeared to have been caused by someone putting hot liquid in the child’s face face had poured. Hospital staff subsequently informed law enforcement of the suspicious nature of the victim’s injuries and investigators began investigating the circumstances under which his burns occurred.

In court documents filed in Mobile County District Court, prosecutors allege Boykin “intentionally tortured, abused, cruelly beaten or otherwise mistreated her son” by “failing to immediately seek medical attention after the child sustained severe burns to his face.” and suffered in the neck”. ” according to a report from Mobile CBS affiliate WKRG.

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood reportedly told WKRG that Boykin’s son is only 10 months old. He said that not only did the boy suffer severe burns to his face, neck and mouth area, but when the victim was first treated by medical staff, he also appeared emaciated and malnourished.
