In a resurfaced Tick tock In the video, Lauren Phillips treated her co-host Jason Hawkins to nuggets and his favorite sauce.

But he was horrified when she told him what ingredient created the flavor he loved so much.

Lauren asked, “Have you ever thought about what sweet and sour sauce is actually flavored?” While Jase lathered the nuggets in sauce.

She waited for him to take his first bite before dropping the bombshell: “Would you believe it’s actually… apricot flavored?” she revealed.

A repulsed Jase paused as reality set in, then said, “I hate apricots. “Now I can taste the apricot” and threw away the half-eaten nugget.

The video sends the internet into a frenzy – and many are just as amazed as the moderator.

Some users were not convinced about the ingredient, while others were more hesitant.

One said: “OMG my mom made apricot chicken with this,” and another wrote: “Apricots go so well with chicken it makes so much sense.”

But a third recounted a similar discovery that had tainted a sauce they once loved.

“When I learned about Caesar salad dressing, my love for it was destroyed,” they said.

And one woman said in a TikTok that she was “shocked to the core” when she found out about the ingredient.

McDonald’s Australia’s official TikTok account also weighed in, making a stomach-churning suggestion.

“Try dipping your soft serve ice cream in sweet and sour sauce,” it said.

Others claim that they have known the true taste of the sauce for years.

One asked: “How come people don’t know this?”

“Sweet n Sour is essentially apricot jam and white vinegar,” claimed another.

Other Sweet ‘n Sour sauce ingredients include peach puree, salt, xanthan gum, garlic powder, cellulose gum, dried chili peppers, onion powder, caramel color, paprika extract and more.

This isn’t the only time McDonald’s has made headlines lately.

Last week we reported on a shocking chain brawl that left two employees injured.

Alarms blared and screams filled the air as the chubby lout spiraled out of control during a confrontation in south Wales.
