The 36-year-old former Arsenal and Barcelona star announces his retirement after helping the Djibouti side to their first title in 41 years

Former Arsenal star Alex Song has announced his retirement from football.
The 36-year-old has ended his career, in which he played 49 games for the Cameroon national team.
Song played for Arsenal, Barcelona and West Ham and spent a short time in Russia with Rubin Kazan.
But he gave up his career at Djiboutian Premier League club Arta Solar 7.
The defensive midfielder moved to the East African club three years ago in 2020 after leaving Swiss club FC Sion.
And in his first season at the club, he captained Arta Solar to its first league title in 41 years.
Before repeating the success the following season with another championship title.
But despite his influence on the club, he has decided now is the time to end his playing days.
song took to Instagram to announce his decision and thank everyone who helped him along the way.
He wrote: “It is with great sadness that it is time for me to hang up my boots.

“My journey, which began as a child in Yaoundé, playing without boots, barefoot and on hard gravel, gave me the strength and courage to succeed.
“When I moved to France and played for Bastia, I thought I had achieved a miracle. However, this was just the beginning as my journey continued to Arsenal and Barcelona, two of the biggest clubs in the world.”
“So many people have helped me along the way: my wife, my children, my family, friends, my agent, coaches and of course all my teammates, to whom I will forever be grateful.”
“Of course Charlton, West Ham, Rubin Kazan, Sion and Arta/Solar 7 will always remain in my heart.”
“The honor of representing my country also filled me with great pride. I feel blessed with so many great memories that will stay with me forever.”
“Finally, I would like to thank all the fans who have supported me on my journey. I will appreciate everything. I hope we all see each other again soon.”
The news comes just days after Song visited his old stomping grounds – the Emirates Stadium.
The former Gunner was present at Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley and was presented with a shirt by the club.
Song played over 200 games for the north London side before moving to Barcelona in 2012.
