Mbappe joins Premier League stars and Champions League winners in the top eleven of free players.

The quality is such that a team with all 11 players would probably be fighting for silver.

Here’s SunSport’s best XI, available for free next summer.

GK – Andriy Lunin

Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has been with the Spanish giants since 2018.

However, he is limited to just 21 appearances and could leave on a free transfer when his current contract expires next year.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Lunin, whose wife has done so given the green light that he is leaving Real Madrid.

RB – Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Despite Aaron Wan-Bissaka being one of Manchester United’s standout players this season, the future remains uncertain.

The full-back is currently in limbo at Old Trafford as the club look to offer him a new contract.

Previous contract negotiations in the summer failed to find a solution and United are believed to be more likely to pursue a one-year extension.

CB – Presnel Kimpembe

Presnel Kimpembe remains out after tearing his Achilles tendon in February.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender has since missed 31 games and is yet to sign a new contract with the French giants.

A graduate of the club’s academy, Kimpembe has been at PSG for 18 years but was offered to Manchester City the previous summer.

CB – Mario Hermoso

Spanish defender Mario Hermoso has played 145 games and won one league title since joining Atletico Madrid in 2019.

However, the 28-year-old still needs to sign a new contract and will become a free agent in the summer.

Arsenal were long-term admirers before his move to the Spanish capital, while Tottenham and Saudi club Al-Ahli have also been linked since.

LB – Victor Lindelof

As with Wan-Bissaka, United have yet to decide whether they will extend Victor Lindelof’s contract beyond next summer.

The Swede can speak to foreign clubs from the beginning of January to agree a pre-contract for when he becomes a free agent.

Lindelof has made 14 appearances this season, including three at left-back, deputizing for the injured Luke Shaw.

CM – Adrien Rabiot

Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for much of the last two years but remains a Juventus player.

However, the Red Devils are reportedly planning a cheaper approach for January, despite Rabiot being available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Rabiot signed a one-year extension last summer and is currently on the radar of several Premier League clubs.

CM – Wilfred Ndidi

After staying at Leicester following relegation from the Premier League, Wilfred Ndidi remains a key player for the Foxes.

The midfielder had played every game in the Championship this season before suffering a muscle injury during the international break in October.

However, he could leave before his contract expires next summer, with Barcelona eyeing a move in January to avoid the queue for his signature.

CM – Daichi Kamada

Daichi Kamada was one of the most sought-after players in Europe since his contract in Frankfurt expired in the summer.

However, he would have to wait until August before signing a one-year contract with Lazio.

Although there is an option for a three-year contract extension, the Japanese midfielder is currently expected to be available on a free transfer again in 2024.

RW – Nico Williams

Nico Williams has proven to be a promising talent since breaking into Athletic Bilbao’s first team and making his debut with the Spanish senior national team.

The 21-year-old has already scored six goals this season, but will no longer have a contract next summer.

Liverpool and Aston Villa have been linked with a summer move, while Newcastle have also been tipped as potential suitors in recent weeks.

ST – Alvaro Morata

After returning to Atlético in 2022 following a two-year loan spell at Juventus, Alvaro Morata has been a standout performer for Diego Simeone’s side this season.

The Spanish striker has scored 12 goals in 15 games in all competitions, including three goals against Celtic in the Champions League.

However, Atletico have yet to offer Morata a new contract after Saudi Arabia showed interest in the summer.

LW – Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe shocked PSG chiefs in the summer when he confirmed he would not be extending his contract beyond 2024.

However, despite interest from Real Madrid and Saudi Arabia, PSG were unable to sell him before the window closed.

His future remains uncertain as he nears the final six months of his contract, with a move to Real reportedly at risk due to financial problems.
