The Rock teases US presidential run “coming soon”

According to The Rock, we could see the People’s Champ become the People’s President, with the star revealing he would consider a run for the White House in the coming years.

He conquered the WWE and became the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. He made an unforgettable Hollywood debut as “The Scorpion King,” took on strange and powerful roles in “Southland Tales” and “Welcome to the Jungle,” and became the highest-paid actor in the world.

He also founded Teremana, the record-breaking tequila that has become one of the most popular premium spirits in the US market, not to mention the energy drink brand ZOA, Seven Bucks Productions and a brand new football league with the XFL.

What’s next for the man who has almost everything and succeeds at every turn? The only thing he hasn’t tried yet: a run for President of the United States…maybe.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is considering a run for president

During a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Johnson spoke about how he was recently approached by party recruiters after a poll suggested he would be a strong presidential candidate.

“It’s crazy, it’s wild. This presidential candidacy conversation has been brewing for a few years now, and it never ceases to be surreal. It was amazing. They came from DC, we sat down, [and] The poll went something like this: Almost 50% of Americans would support my candidacy for president. It was just crazy,” he said.

So, will he do it? “Definitely down the road,” he told Fallon, as he has other priorities at the moment. “I’m a proud girls dad…my 22 year old, I like to say we grew up together and at that time I was wrestling full time.

“I’ve always been away and I know what it’s like to have a job that takes me away from being a father. This time I want to be a dad to my seven and five year old children and that is the most important thing for me.”

Johnson had been hinting at a political career since 2016 when he said this GQ that “the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is tempting,” before telling it diversity that the 2024 presidential campaign is a “realistic consideration.”

Although he hasn’t been as outspoken in recent years and has already expressed a desire to be more present as a parent with his youngest children, he recently told Trevor Noah: “If that’s ultimately what people want, then of course I would consider it.” ”
