The spooky Pokémon bug Scarlet and Purple brings a shopping bag to life

You’d think we’d have seen pretty much every old bug or bug in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple by now, but apparently not, because a new one brings a shopping bag to life.

From bugs in the DLC that have bought back Dynamax Pokémon, to game-breaking glitches that can completely prevent you from completing the main story, to glitches that can leave your trainer battling the Pokémon themselves. It’s clear that Scarlet and Violet has been plagued by plenty of hilarious glitches and bugs over the past year, but we think we’ve found something even stranger than any that’s come before it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the Ghost Shopping Bag.

A random player over on Reddit who seemed to be minding his own business, happened upon this elusive wild “Pokémon” that he couldn’t interact with at all. At this point, we believe this wasn’t a bug at all, but rather the next regional Pokémon variant coming to The Indigo Disk DLC on December 14th… correct?

Anyway, the error is definitely strange. I imagine what probably happened is beneficial, as the bag was exchanged for a Pokemon and then sent on a magical journey through Paldea that the trainer happened upon.

It’s a shame then that the coach wasn’t able to fight or take the bag. I’m curious to see exactly which Pokemon it mimicked, or, better yet, whether the bug would have remained and the trainer would have had a brand new grocery bag Pokemon to battle alongside.

One wonders what bizarre bug or bug will pop up next.
