NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – In this episode of “Tiempo” we celebrate 50 years of the New York cultural icon.
With November being Puerto Rican Heritage Month, Nuyorican Poets Café reached a golden milestone: 50 years!
Earlier this month, the iconic space hosted its final party before embarking on a major $24 million renovation.
The overhaul will see the Lower East Side touchstone shut down for three years after the work is completed.
Joe Torres is joined by the cafe’s general manager, Caridad De La Luz, who shares details of what you can expect in the exciting new chapter.
Additionally, Luis Miranda Jr. of the Hamilton Campaign Network joins Tiempo to discuss a new study of registered Latino voters in New York State.
