What’s Timbaland and Britney Spears’ drama?

When Britney Spears’ conservatorship ended, fans were hoping for an interview where Britney could tell us all about what happened, but she has stayed pretty quiet in recent years. That is, until her book The woman in me.

The book not only records the conservatory period, but also chronicles her entire life. One relationship that Britney goes into detail about is with Justin Timberlake.

And what Britney had to say created drama with Timbaland. What is the beef? We explain it below.

To understand the drama with Timbaland, we must first go back to what was said about his long-time collaborator Justin Timberlake. Justin and Britney were known to be in a relationship between 1999 and 2002. The couple just started dating when they were 18 and 17 respectively.

Britney talks about her relationship with Justin The woman in me, shockingly telling the world that the couple was pregnant and that she had an abortion, which was also convincing from Justin. She wrote that Justin “said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lifetime, we were way too young.”

We would like to point out that Justin has not yet commented on the book.

So where does Timbaland come into play here? Well, Timbaland was on stage at “Sounds Architects: A Producer Conversation” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC when he was asked about the book by a fan.

In the video above, Timbaland says, “I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, you need to muzzle this girl.” TMZ also reported that he said, “He doesn’t blame Britney for having loose lips because that’s what you have to do to go viral and that’s the name of the game in the current social media era of showbiz.”

Fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure with the comment. One person said: “Imagine being told in 2023 that a woman should be muzzled for speaking her truth, ESPECIALLY after 13 years of abuse and silence. Timbaland is such a misogynistic piece of shit. “I’m so gross right now.”

Another person tweeted“Timbaland is the one who needs a muzzle. We haven’t forgotten his disgusting Aaliyah comments. He’s still upset that Britney didn’t want to work with him. A bad man.” The event mentioned here is when Timbaland said he was in love with Aaliyah even though she was 16 years old and he was 23 years old at the time.

Britney Spears has not commented on the comment and Timbaland has yet to apologize, but we’re sure (or at least we hope) that the latter is imminent.
