“A Heidelberg Vacation” was filmed on location in the Heidelberg region of Germany, with the beautiful Heidelberg Castle in the background of many scenes. Some scenes were also shot in Serbia.
Glass ornament artist Lindsay Designs shared their enthusiasm on Instagram for choosing Hallmark to create the beautiful ornaments you see in the film.
“Almost a year ago, a director from the Hallmark network reached out to me about designing ’12 Days of Christmas’ themed Christmas decorations for a movie they were making!!” they wrote. “@utpony and I collaborated to create 12 uniquely painted blown glass ornaments. I’m so excited to finally share this news! The film is called A Heidelberg Holiday and will air on the Hallmark Channel on November 12th! My ornaments will be featured throughout the film! Be sure to check this out!!! The featured ornaments will be available soon!”
A2Z filming location reported that much of the film was shot in Germany (as IMDb also confirmed) and that, unlike many Christmas films, this one was filmed in the winter from December 2022 to the end of January.
One of the filming locations was Heidelberg Castle itself, which can be seen in the film’s trailer. According to the Heidelberg Castle websiteKnown in German as Heidelberg Castle, it is considered a prominent landmark where it is considered a significant Renaissance structure. The castle is still partially reconstructed after it was demolished in the 17th and 18th centuries. It lies 260 feet above the northern slopes of the Königstuhl and is accessible via an intermediate station on the Heidelberg mountain railway.
Sydney LaFaire divided that she played a small role in the film, which was shot in Heidelberg. She was there too for the wrap of the film, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia.
There is a lot of authenticity in the film, including a tradition that dates back to 1863, said director Maclain Nelson.
Jonathan Bennett surprised Mason when he showed up while she was filming.
He divided that he was walking through Heidelberg when he saw a film that was very reminiscent of a Hallmark film. That’s when he met Mason and other people he knew and couldn’t believe it. He and his husband Jaymes Vaughan now make a cameo appearance in the film.
